Lechweg

Recommendation for the Lechweg hikers

  • Stay several days at the country house Marion and get the Lechtal Active Card free of charge from the second day
  • You can use the buses free of charge all around the valley and up to Lech
  • There is no need to change the quarters daily and pay a higher price
  • We recommend starting with a comfortable hike in the valley
  • The most beautiful hike is from Formariumsee Lake to Lech - if possible not on the first day
  • Wait for the best weather for hikes at a higher altitude
  • You can walk with a light luggage and do not need to carry a heavy backpack
  • You do not need to pay for luggage transport
  • You don’t depend on weather, in case of bad weather you can hike in the valley and possibly get earlier back by bus
  • On good weather long hikes
  • We will be pleased to advise you and provide further information

Suspension foot bridge Holzgau

The highest and most spectacular pedestrian suspension bridge in Austria is located in Holzgau in the Lechtal Valley.

  • Length: 200.50 m
  • Height: 110 m
  • Width: 1 m
  • Height of the handrail: 130 cm
  • 2 pylons each of 5 m height
  • The running surface is inlayed with grating
  • The Bridge is illuminated in the evening

The bridge spans the wildly romantic Hoehenbach Gorge at Holzgau. You can see the Holzgau suspension bridge from the town and at night it glows with LED lighting. The bridge connects the sunny slopes on the Gfoellberg with the sunny plateau at Schiggenberg. This Bridge is a gap closure of the new Lechweg – an easier hiking trail over 125 km from Lechquellen at Lech am Arlberg to Lechfällen at Füssen.
